PlenaGlass 800 PE

DESCRIPTION

PlenaGlass 800 PE is a perforated membrane with glass veil reinforcement and polymer-modified bituminous compound, designed for semi-adhered application of the overlying bituminous membranes. The PlenaGlass product range is intended for creating layers that diffuse vapor pressure and provide ventilation. They are particularly recommended for refurbishment projects on deteriorated waterproofing systems where removal of the old layer is not planned, or in cases where the installation of waterproofing
elements occurs on cementitious substrates that are not yet completely dry, in order to disperse residual water vapor and prevent the formation of dangerous blistering and the consequent detachment of the bituminous membranes from the substrate.
PlenaGlass 800 PE can also be used as a decoupling element to accommodate possible movements caused by thermal expansion of the layers forming the roofing system or by their settlement during the initial installation phases.

APPLICATION

PlenaGlass 800 PE is laid dry on the substrate, which must first be cleaned and leveled by removing any reptations or blisters in the case of installation over old bituminous membranes. The substrate must also be prepared for the subsequent torching phase of the overlying bituminous membranes by applying an appropriate bituminous primer beforehand. The hot application of the waterproofing membranes will allow adhesion to the primed substrate only at the perforated points of the PlenaGlass membranes, achieving in a single torching pass both semi-independence and the vapor diffusion and ventilation layer.
