Roofing | Vapor Control Layers | PlenaTex Bar 80-140-180-200
DESCRIPTION
PlenaTex Bar is a range of synthetic vapor control layers made of a polypropylene film sandwiched between two layers of nonwoven polypropylene fabric, bonded together using ultrasonic welding. This production method ensures structural continuity, product uniformity, and the absence of adhesives or added chemicals.
PlenaTex Bar 80 is designed to offer an excellent balance of mechanical resistance, dimensional stability, and moisture control. PlenaTex Bar 140, 180, and 200 stand out for their high mechanical strength and a specialized surface treatment that provides anti-slip, abrasion-resistant, and UV-resistant properties—enhancing durability and installation safety even in demanding conditions. All models in the range are classified as W1 according to EN 13859, ensuring the highest level of water resistance under current standards.
APPLICATION
The PlenaTex Bar range is designed to meet a variety of application needs in both walls and roofs. Each product supports proper hygrothermal balance within the building assembly and ensures long-term protection of insulation materials in any context. PlenaTex Bar 80 is ideal for use as a vapor control layer in internal walls, whether in dry systems or plastered assemblies, where it is placed on the warm side of the construction, facing the heated interior. It is especially suitable for partition walls between zones with different thermal and humidity conditions, such as in timber or lightweight steel frame structures, energy retrofit projects, or wherever limiting vapor diffusion into the wall is necessary. In these cases, the product helps prevent interstitial condensation, protecting the insulation and enhancing the wall system’s durability and performance. PlenaTex Bar 140, 180, and 200 are specifically designed for discontinuous pitched roofs, where they are installed over the first wooden deck, beneath the insulation layer. They are particularly suited to ventilated roofs with double decking and insulation systems made of mineral wool, PIR, or wood fiber. In such applications, the membranes effectively regulate vapor flow from the inside to the outside, playing a key role in preventing condensation and preserving the insulation’s thermal performance over time. In all configurations, PlenaTex Bar products ensure reliability, protection, and durability—supporting the overall performance of the building envelope.
